We attended Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire 2015, weekend 2 day 1. Todays theme was Fantastical Faeries! This was mine + Zachs first ever Renaissance Faire. It was an hour drive from where we live in greenlake.

I had a good time there! There were so many vendors, they all had unique booths but were all within the general magical renaissance theme. Gypsy Clothes, Weapon Shop, Leather workers, Costumes and so much more. They even had some shows and events going on in different areas of the faire grounds.

I adored many of the costumes! To be honest I almost forgot about the event so I stayed up late the night before and made my fairy wings from things all around my apartment: 4 wire hangers, 4 plastic clothing bags, nail polish as paint and glitter! But I think it came out pretty nice. I also wore my Shop Tobi Fringe dress with my long crafturday fringelets. To finish the look I went on youtube and looked up a fairy makeup tutorial and I tried to re-create it. I also styled zacharys look. He wore a gauze shirt I had sewn him while ago, and paired it with some of our accessories. Over all I am happy with both our looks.

It was a large area with tons of people walking around, maybe 1/2 were in costumes. In my opinion I think people who attend should at least try to dress up a little (a hat, some type of clothing, or face paint) just as a respect for the event and the hardworking people who are trying to make it legit. -end rant-

This was a really fun event to attend! Visting a Renaissance fair was actually on my bucket list. I am so glad I was able to attend it. Zach and I agreed we would try to adventure and try to visit more events like this in the future!

Question of the Day: Have you ever attended a renaissance fair? Would you like to? Let us know in the comments! 🙂

  • This fair looks absolutely amazing! Such an experience! I’ve never been to anything like this before, sadly they don’t have anything like this where I am from. Your pictures also look absolutely amazing, your look is so creative :)! Wonderful blog! xxx

This fair looks like something that is right up your alley! You make a beautiful fairy 🙂 Question, your hair always looks SO GOOD, how do you keep the color? Do you touch it up yourself? I ask because I struggle due to the fact that mine seems to fade incredibly quick!

    • I dye my hair entirely myself! I actually re-did it recently so that’s why it looks extra nice.
Since my hair was bleached/toned so light my hair holds color well. My best tip for you would be wash your hair every 2-3 days, or even less if possible. (Use dry shampoo for in between washes). I have also been told washing your hair in cold water reduces the risk of color washing out.
In general I add more color to my hair at least once a month– usually when I re-do my roots.
      I hope that helps 🙂

  • Oh wow, that is quite the festival and I could imagine how amazing everyone who is in costume looks. I do agree with you though, people should at least try to wear something that goes with the festival theme, it’s just simple respect to the hard work.

  • What a cool adventure!! Your wings are lovely…great job!!! My sister loves the Renaissance Faire in Bristol, WI. She’s going this weekend. I went once. I dressed like a gypsy. My sister goes with her friends all the time. She’s dressed as a fairy, a pirate, and so many more. Cool type of event to attend!
